Kim Todd
Hello, my name is Kim, welcome to my website.
I completely understand that speaking to a counsellor can feel daunting. The most important thing to remember is that my job is to help you, by creating a space where l work in a warm, empathetic, and non-judgemental way. I feel my strength is the ability to tailor therapy to the client, not the client to the therapy. Humour is a big part of who I am and where appropriate we may find some humour along the way 🙂
Everybody has their own reasons for coming to therapy – what one person finds easy, can be a problem for someone else. You may be very clear about your reasons for wanting therapy or you may feel stuck and know you are struggling but are not quite sure why, you may even not really know what therapy is.
I hope the information included in this website will help to give you a sense of what therapy can do, but if you would like to know more or discuss anything in more detail, please do not hesitate to get in touch, all my contact details are here.
A bit more about my role:
I am a qualified advanced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, and member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, which means I maintain the idea that there are many ways to explore and understand human psychology – no one theory alone holds the answer and all theories have value, and by integrating them to a person’s personality whether it be to reflect on the past or navigate challenging times in the present, it can have positive outcomes.
My aim is to adapt my style to help you become more aware of yourself, giving you the ability and the tools to discover your own way forward with greater self-knowledge and self-belief. Â It might be that you just need a few sessions to explore a particular issue that has been troubling you, or you may want something more long term, I am here to help.
I am lucky enough to work with teens, young adults, and adults, and those in the Creative Industry either face to face or via Zoom.
I believe strongly in the power of talking therapy and the help that it can bring, so please do get in touch if you would like to chat to see if I can help.
Until then, take care,
Kim Todd
